Affidavit of the application for the letters of adminstration re William Slater of Duffield, farmer, deceased, with Thomas Slater of Hazelwood appearing personally, sworn 27th Feb 1824; and
Obligation: Thomas Slater of Hazelwoods in the Parish of Duffield, farmer; John Adams of Burton upon Trent, Staffordshire, grocer, and William Allen of Horlinglow, Staffordshire, farmer being firmly bound to James Thomas Law, clerk, Master of Arts, & Chancellor of the Diocese of Lichfield and Coventry for the sum of £400, that Thomas Slater, as administrator of all goods, chattels and credits of William Slater deceased, makes a true and perfect Inventory of all of the deceased's possessions in the absence of Letters of Administration, 27 Feb 1824

Slater died intestate a bachelor without parent. Probate was granted to Thomas Slater, the deceased's brother, executed 27th Feb 1824, extracted at Lichfield 5 Mar 1824. William Slater died on 18th Feb 1824.
