Thanks for plan of Gamesley Castle; wants to see pamphlet on druidical remains published last Summer by Major Rooke [Hayman Rooke]; what does Cresswell think of giving America independence; 'if General Howe had done his duty we should never have been brought to this dilemma, to have made a dishonourable peace, which I am afraid will be of short continuance'; with sketch of cross in Eyam churchyard and note on Beauchief Abbey, 17th February
