Administrative History
The Erewash Canal was built in the 1770s. Its routes ran from the Trent at Trent Lock in Sawley northwards to Langley Mill. Adjacent collieries had tramways running down to the canal to take advantage of this new outlet to the Trent for their merchandise.
Custodial History
These copy documents were given to the Record Office in 1967.
