Administrative History | The "Forms 37 land" contain information extracted from the valuation precis books, known as Domesday books. As the Domesday books for the Matlock and High Peak districts are already in this collection, it was deemed unnecessary to retain the Forms 37 land covering the region, after they were transferred to Derbyshire Record Office in April 1985. However, those covering Furness Vale and Tintwistle were retained, because these places are covered in the Cheshire Domesday books for Disley and Dukinfield, held at Manchester Archives. |
