| Administrative History | The Chilcote estate was the property of the Clarke family of Sutton Scarsdale until the marriage in 1805 of Anne Clarke, sister and heiress of Godfrey Bagnold Clarke, to Walter Butler, 17th Earl of Ormonde. By Act of Parliament, the Chilcote estate was sold on 18 November 1824. |
