Administrative History
The Peacock Hotel at Rowsley formerly belonged to the Dukes of Rutland. In 1946 it was incorporated as the Peacock Hotel Limited. In 1958 the Company was sold to Ind Coope and Co Ltd of Burton-on-Trent, which later became part of Allied Breweries. The Hotel later came into the possession of the Punch Group, which bought out parts of Allied Breweries during the 1990s
