| Description | Press-copy letter books, each labelled "Board's Report Book", containing copies of letters sent from the Customs and Excise offices in Chesterfield, Eckington and Bakewell to the Honourable Commissioners of the Customs and Excise Board, and to the local Surveyors in Chesterfield (for the Eckington division) and Derby (for Bakewell). The majority of the letters relate to queries over duties payable in respect of businesses and organisations in the areas covered by the offices; others refer to compensation and pension arrangements, and to infringements of licensing and trade regulations. |
