Administrative HistoryThe Darley Abbey Society was formed in 1989 following opposition to a planned development of a block of flats in Brick Row. It aims to be an effective voice in maintaining and improving the environment in and around Darley Abbey. It does this through consideration of proposed building work and working with local authorities and businesses to provide leisure facilities, sympathetic development of open areas and the river for public access and awareness of local environmental issues.
Custodial HistoryThe records were deposited by an officer of the Society in January 2002 and October 2005.
