Strelley family of Denby
Administrative History
The Denby Old Hall estate was acquired by William Strelley of Oakerthorpe in the eighteenth century and was still in the hands of his descendants in 1945. The coal workings on the estate at Denby were leased and worked by the Butterley Company from the late nineteenth century.
Custodial History
These documents were deposited in Derbyshire Record Office in May 1968. The list was added to the online catalogue as part of the FindersKeepers project, with the help of Elissa Rowe.
