Deed of exchange between Rev Thomas Wright of Birkin (Yorks) and Thomas Popplewell, gentleman, of Pontefract;
Wright exchanges Helcroft close (9½ acres) adjoining Popplewell's land called Birkin (Yorks)holme (bounds), Holm Close (5½ acres) adjoining Popplewell's close called Holm Close on east and Birkin (Yorks)holme on south (bounds), south east corner of Helcroft close as it is now marked out to be inclosed by Popplewell and added to Holm Close, Cow Close (7 acres) adjoining Popplewell's Bean Croft (bounds), 3 parcels of meadow (2 acres 1½ roods) in Cumberley close and a piece of meadow called the Balk in same close (1 rood, bounds), for 4 closes called Marsh Bottom, Marsh Hill, Green Croft Bottom, and Green Croft Hill (12 acres, 1 rood, bounds), 2 parcels of arable in Eastfield (1 acre 1 rood, bounds), 11 parcels of arable dispersed in Short Burns (9 acres, bounds) 10 parcels arable in Long Burns and Harnish Walls (4 acres, bounds); contains separate note of lands granted to Rev Thomas Wright.
