DescriptionTo Robert Barker esquire, of Grays Inn, the manor of Birkin with advowson, Birkin Holm (140 acres), Birkin Hall, and all those lands named in testator's settlement on marriage with Everingham Cressey on 17/18 May 1676, and also in decrees of Chancery, with annual sum of £320 mentioned in the settlement, and £2,000 charged on manor of Birkin for portion of Dorothy, now wife of Archibald, earl of Roseberry, all in trust, that from rents until sale, and by mortgaging and sale of that part of manor mentioned in lease and release of 2/3 May 1672, excepting Birkin Holm, with reversions and remainders in marriage settlement of 19 Sept. 1670, barred by said lease and release and common recovery following it, he should pay Robert Thornhill the elder esquire of Middle Temple, £1200 with interest, with other monetary legacies; rest of estate only to be charged with these legacies if cannot pay legacies to Robert Thornhill, Robert Barker and Ann Clayton; rest of estate to use of Ann Clayton, her husband Robert having no interest in it; other bequests of personalty
