Descriptionthanks for 3 bills for £70, all for Mrs. Lowther;
Elizabeth Garland wishes to keep poor simple cousin Thomas Garland covered with shirts to value of £3 or £4;
the Duke of D[evonshire] accepts the First Lord of the Treasury in complaisance to his master;
the Duke of N[ewcastle] plays his cards into the hands of such as chuse them, and gracefully retires, with a Dukedom settled on Lord Lincoln and sons by his niece, with grants on remainder to his nephew Skelly, Mr. C. Pelham, and one other kinsman;
Mr. Pitt, the hinge on whom all turns, is secretary with Lord Holdernesse;
it is supposed the opposing party will enter into the new measures;
next Friday the Lord Chancellor gives up the seals, which will be put in commission.
