Administrative History | The Ancient Order of Foresters operated as a provider of insurance, offering life and other types of assurance, and sickness and disability benefits. The Order was divided into branches, known as courts. Court Thorntree 1864 was set up in 1912 by to serve the Youlgreave area. The Court was dissolved in 1998 and members joined Court Win Tor 4453. |
Custodial History | The items were found in an attic during house clearance and donated to the Derbyshire Record Office in June 2001. Further items were donated by the Ancient Order of Foresters: Court Win Tor in September 2022. |
