DescriptionAt a long table eight men sit eating meat. They all have beards. On the far left Jerome Bonaparte wearing a crown and holding a sceptre, stands on a dais with a throne. He addresses the Jewish diners, who comment favourably on the food.

Jerome Napoleon was made King of Westphalia by the treaty of Tilsit in 1807. He removed the disabilities imposed on the Jews of Westphalia and relied on Jewish financiers to restore the poor finances.
