DescriptionA man sits, holding a pitcher, lamenting the demise of home-brewing:
"In short neighbours I must give over brewing - here is an end of my pitcher of ale, which my passing friend, and thirsty traveller were ever welcome to. - here is an end of that substantive beverage in which the labours of the day were forgotten beneath the alder bush, or the tranquil shade of the apple tree."
On the left sits a traveller, holding a staff, with a dog at his feet. On the right is an old man wearing glasses, reading a paper on which is written 'Tax on private brewing', while a maid servant looks over his shoulder. Available on CD 158.
