Ralph Wewitzer (1748-1825) was born in London, and before turning to acting was apprenticed to a jeweller. He was at Covent Garden from 1774 to 1789. A skilled comic actor, he frequently played eccentrics and dialect parts and foreigners.
This may well be the production of 'Henry V' staged at Covent Garden on 20 May 1782.
