An Easy Conveyance from London to Paris

Description
A dancer stands on a balloon, in his right hand he holds a hat with streamers and in his left a moneybag. He stands with his left leg at a right angle. The balloon has a balcony around it upon which are moneybags and a violin. Available on CD 157.

Further Information
The dancer portrayed is probably Marie-Jean-Augustin Vestris, who along with his father danced at the Opera House and gave classes in the 1780s. The pose of the figure is very similar to 'Oh Qui Goose-toe' (BM Sat 5906, published in 1781) which caricatures the younger Vestris.
