Administrative HistoryBlackwell parish is one of the ancient parishes of Derbyshire. The church is dedicated to St Werburgh. The parish of St Thomas in Derby was formed out of the parish of St James the Greater in 1883. The church, in Pear Tree Road, Litchurch, was dedicated in the same year.
Custodial HistoryThese items were collected by the incumbent of both churches, who was Vicar of St Thomas until 1995 and then Vicar of Blackwell. The documents were deposited in Derbyshire Record Office in May 2001
