Manuscript volume compiled by Titus Wheatcroft (born 1679), youngest son of Leonard Wheatcroft and clerk of Ashover parish from 1706 to 1752. Entitled 'Church and School or the Young Clarks Instructor 1722'

Notes on the parish, church and school, including the church bells and church inscriptions, the parish commons, woods, springs, a cool bath, mines and quarries, smelting and corn mills; description of boundaries and their perambulation, charity lands, school endowments, customs and dues paid to minister and clerk.
Register of burial places, alphabetically by family.
