Description
John was the eldest son of James Farewell Wright and his wife Jane, and inherited Eyam Hall in 1805. He lived in Sheffield with his wife Alethea Younge and their children, using The Firs as his Eyam home. He leased Eyam Hall to his younger brother Peter, who administered the estate on his behalf. See series D5430/8 for estate account books which include personal entries relating to John William Wright and his family
