All three photographs are identified by captions on the reverse as relating to the opening of the Empire Conference in Summer 1946.
Comprising:
D5395/23/2 (i): Photograph taken from behind a seated crowd. Caption on reverse identifies the following individuals, all standing on a stage (left to right): the Treasurer of the Royal Society, the Duchess of Athlone (Princess Alice), Queen Elizabeth, King George VI, Robert Robinson, the Duke of Athlone, Gertrude, Lascelles, Lady Herbert.
D5395/23/2 (ii): Showing guests walking through lobby of Beveridge Hall, University of London (the last few letters of which are visible on the wall). Caption identifies (left to right): Queen Elizabeth, King George VI, Gertrude, Robert Robinson, the Duchess of Athlone, the Duke of Athline, Lascelles, Treasurer of Royal Society.
D5395/23/2 (iii): Showing Robert Robinson delivering an address, with other guests seated. Caption identifies other guests as (left to right): Treasurer of Royal Society, Duchess of Athlone, Queen Elizabeth, King George VI, Duke of Athlone, Gertrude.
All three stamped on reverse: "Sport & General Press Agency of London" but photographer not named. Presumably published or otherwise made available to the public in 1946, so in copyright until 2016
