Bundle consists of contract for the sale (dated 10 Sep 1785), lease and release, two copies of enrolled bargain and sale, covenant for production of title deeds and covenant relating to a modus in lieu of tithes in the manor of Hopwell (all dated 3 and 4 Feb 1786), and assignment of term of years (dated 7 Apr 1786)
The sale is from Sir James Winter Lake, baronet, to Thomas Pares of Leicester, gent, for £21,500, and comprises the manor of Hopwell in the parish of Church Wilne, several messuages, lands, plantations, etc in Hopwell, Ockbrook and Borrowash, the advowson of the rectory and vicarage of Ockbrook, and a tenth part of the manor of Ockbrook
