Administrative History
Cressbrook Primary School opened in the 19th century, largely supported by the Cressbrook Mills Company and the McConnel family. It was leased by Derbyshire County Council in 1906 and bought 30 years later. By 1997 the school had only seven pupils on its roll. It closed in July of that year.
