Administrative History
This collection of papers relating to caving groups and activities was donated by Margaret Howard (nee May) formerly Oakley. Margaret Howard was an active member of the Operation Mole Mines Research and Exploration Group and the Peak District Mines Historical Society. She was a member of the Derbyshire Archaeological Society and the Derbyshire Family History Society, for which she has written articles and news items. The collection also includes personal records of Margaret Howard, relating to her activity in opposing planning applications and building schemes which threatened the environment. Personal papers of Alan Ashwell and Frank Sheen were donated with the collection.
