DescriptionIncludes letter from Henry Heyworth describing the death of Lord Middleton, receipts and accounts relating to legacies. Also included are promissory notes by Lord Middleton 'to pay Sarah Chadburn the sum of three hundred pounds a year during her natural life in case she lives along with me'; and a note by Sarah Chadburn promising to give up her money, including the three hundred pounds per year by Lord Middleton if she should marry John Sleight or go to London in her lifetime.

Administrative HistoryFrancis Willoughby (1726-1774) became 3rd Baron Middleton on the death of his father, Francis Willoughby (1692-1758). He lived at Wollaton Park, Nottinghamshire and died unmarried. He was succeeded by his younger brother, Thomas Willoughby.
