He has been very ill - starting with a cough and cold leading to an obstruction of bile in the liver. He was treated with strong medication and bled for two days. His fever has now gone, and he writes on the first day he is able to sit up. Has received a note from Lord Falmouth, who had taken First Lieutenant York to Hieres Bay. Falmouth was content. He describes how other fellow seamen are very ill with fever, too. Congratulates his father on the find of coal. |
