Consternation at the plight of a contemporary expected to depart Lisbon, leaving belongings and wealth to try and resettle in another country such as Gibraltar, Malta or Sicily with a similar climate without the means or status to do so comfortably. A letter of recognition received from the Admiralty for gallant conduct at Begu. |
