Administrative History | Millicent Barton (1744-1803) was the daughter of Edward Mundy and Hester Miller, and sister of Edward Miller Mundy I, Nelly Mundy and Hester Mundy (later Lady Newdigate). She was baptised in Derby in 1844 and married James Barton of Penwortham, Lancashire at St George's Hanover Square in June 1768. Their children were baptised in London; by 1788, they were living in Norfolk. Their children included Millicent (b 1769, London, d 1788, Heanor), Augusta (b 1770, London) Nelly (b 1781, London), John and James.
By 1792 she was either widowed or estranged from her husband, as she appears to have become dependent on her brother. She died in 1803 and was buried at Heanor. |
