Title
Assignment by Thomas Brock of Chester, esq., to Charles Roe of Macclesfield (Ches.) esq., (reciting a lease (1 Jul 1768 by Martha Morgan of Stanstye Hall (Denbs.) widow, to John Price of Gwersyllt, collier, of beds of coal and iron stone beneath several parcels of land called Upper Hallcocks, except under the buildings thereon, in the township of Broughton, for 21 years at a rent of one seventh off all coal raised for the first 2 years, 9 months of the term and £10 p.a. thereafter, and reciting an assignment of the said lease by Price to Brock (8 Sep 1769) in consideration of £50 whereas Brock is owner of lands adjoining the Upper Hallcock and has lately leased the same to Roe for 31 years, rendering 1/7 of the coal raised to Brock and whereas in part of the said lands a sough is begun for working the coal if carried on will drain the mines on the Upper Hallcocks mines to Roe, subject to the payment of £10 p.a. to Martha Morgan and of 1/7 of the coal or the value thereof to Brock, of the said coal mines beneath the Upper Hallcocks, for the residue of the term. 10 Oct
