Archive Creator	Derbyshire County Council: County Medical Officer of Health
Administrative History	Derbyshire County Council appointed its first County Medical Officer of Health in 1891. In 1974 the duties of the Medical Officer of Health were transferred from the County Council to the National Health Service.
Custodial History	These records were transferred to Derbyshire Record Office by the Clerk's Department in the 1960s. They originally formed part of the 'DCC' Series but were reaccessioned in 1999. Later additions were received in August 2004.
