DescriptionRobert Rowland bought the Wheatsheaf Hotel, Baslow in 1888.

In his will his wife Hannah was to carry on the running of the Wheatsheaf Hotel.
They had ten children, Margaret Thorpe, Ann, Emma, Harry, Fanny Carter, Sally, Kate, Robert, James, Hannah, and Lily. Margaret and Fanny were made executors to their father's will.

In 1913 the Stag Hotel was taken over by Mrs. Thompson.
