Description | Walter Bradbury, parish clerk, of Bakewell, died in 1893. His first wife, Mary Ann, had died in 1888. Mr Bradbury left his property, comprising Ollerset House in North Church Street, Bakewell (together with a garden, workshop and yard) and land called Holme Close in the parish of Youlgreave, to his children Sarah, Mary Elizabeth, May, Hannah Sophia ('Dot') and James Watson, subject to the life interest of his second wife Alice, who was also appointed a trustee of his will and of the estate. Alice moved to Cheltenham at the turn of the century, and either re-married or reverted to her maiden name, as she signed her letters 'Alice Shutt' from 1902. She later moved to the United States of America with James Watson Bradbury. |
