| Description | The series is not quite complete. D4783/2/1-47 dated from 1774-1795 and D4783/2/48-94 from 1796-1821. The manors included are Idridgehay, Biggin and Holland [Hulland] but appointments of officials are also made to townships of Duffield and of Hazelwood, Turnditch and Windley The copyhold verdict refers to Belper (1813-1820). The documents are probably drafts as for the Belper court, titles of court and lords as for the Belper Court, except that the copyhold verdict is for the small court baron. Most of the business of the courts relates to appointments of constables, reeves and pinders and to amercements of those not appearing at the courts. Later courts may transact no business. Signed by the jurors. Includes: D4783/2/34-35: Notes desiring Thomas Peach be appointed to offices in certain townships, Oct 1790, and D4783/2/36: List of freeholders, copyholders and residents in liberty of Idridgehay and Alton, Oct 1790 |
