| Administrative History | The Belper Rural Sanitary Authority was formed in 1872 based upon the Belper Poor Law Union. In 1895, under the 1894 Local Government Act it was reconstitued as the Belper Rural District Council. It was succeeded in 1974 by Amber Valley Borough Council under the 1972 Local Government Act. |
| Custodial History | These records were originally accessioned under reference D1382 (deposit dates: March 1974, September 1975, January 1978 November 1984, July, August, November and December 1985, December 1991, November 1993 and February 1994 by the Rural District Council and Amber Valley Borough Council).
The records were reaccessioned in February 1997 (records for Milford Parish Council under D1382 were reaccessioned under reference D4637).
A further deposit was received in November 1998. |
