D4618/1/2
Title
Feoffment by Edward Thompson butcher and William Wallis yeoman both of Sawley, overseers of the poor of Sawley to 9 of the principal inhabitants of Sawley of closes (19 acres) with barn in one of the closes, described in greater detail than in D4618/1/1 but not giving a name to the close of 15 acres, to hold for the charitable uses for which they were purchased under the will of Francis Hacker of London (26 Aug 1676). Recites his will in part: gave to Sawley where he and his mother were born £200, which in certain circumstances may be used to raise a further sum, with details of how it is to be spent; the overseers had laid out the money in purchasing lands as described for carrying out the terms of the will. 25 Jan
