| Administrative History | The Wesleyan chapel on the High Street was known as Memorial Chapel, built by his family in memory of George Wells. The United Methodists and Primitive Methodists also had chapels in Eckington. In 1932 the Wesleyan United and Primitive Methodist Churches amalgamated to form the Methodist Church.
Following declining congregations, the Methodist church on High Street was sold in November 1995. Whilst improvements were made to the Mount Zion church, the congregations of both churches worshipped at the parish church of St Luke's. A similar arrangement continued until October 2005, when a Local Ecumenical Partnership was established. The Church of Eckington Methodist with St Lukes closed in 2021. |
