Archive CreatorMatlock Local Board, later Matlock Urban District Council
Administrative HistoryThe Local Board formed in 1862 was replaced by the Urban District Council (UDC) in 1895. This was expanded in 1924 to include the area of the former Matlock Bath and Scarthin Nick UDC and the parishes of Cromford and Tansley.
Custodial HistoryThese records were deposited in Derbyshire Record Office by Derbyshire Dales District Council, as the successor authority, in December 1996 and June 2002. D4590/10/1-5 were donated by a member of the public in September 2024. D4590/11/1/1955 was donated by Bakewell Town Council in December 2025, see catalogue description for further information.
