Administrative History | Staveley Parish Council was established under the provisions of the Local Government Act 1894. It helped to provide local public amenities and services such as street lighting, recreation grounds, footpaths and public seating, as well as liaise with other local authorities over proposals or issues that might concern the area. The parish council was replaced by Staveley Urban District Council by the County of Derby Review Order, 1935. Later still the urban district was merged into Chesterfield Borough. |
