Whittington Hall Hospital, New Whittington
Administrative History
Whittington Hall was founded by Revd Harold Nelson Burden (1860–1930) in the early 20th century. Referred to in the 1939 National Register as the "National Institution for persons requiring care and control". It closed in 1996.
At various points, it came under the management of Sheffield Regional Hospital Board (D4556); Chesterfield Hospital Management Committee (D4555); Trent Regional Health Authority (D4923/1); and fionally North Derbyshire District Health Authority.
