Breadsall Remand Home Joint Committee
Administrative History
Breadsall Remand Home for girls was run jointly by Derby Borough Council and Derbyshire County Council. The Joint Committee ceased to exist after local government re-organisation in 1974, when the County Council Social Services Committee took over the whole running of the home. There is no information on individual girls in the minute books.
Custodial History
These records were deposited in Derbyshire Record Office by Derby City Council in September 1996. A further volume (D4541/2/1) was accessioned in September 2025, having been found with other unaccessioned and unrelated material c2012. No further information is known about who deposited the volume.
