DescriptionBy an indenture of 1599 Elizabeth, Countess Dowager of Shrewsbury granted an annual rent of £5 arising out of land at Little Longstone to be used for an almshouse, as well as a dole of £5 to the poor. In 1983 it was amalgamated with the Municipal Charities.
