Administrative History | Rockside Hydropathic Establishment was built by Charles Rowland in 1862 and was afterwards enlarged to cater for increased demand. It was located at an altitude of 800 ft above sea level in Wellington St., Matlock Bank. After conversion for educational use in the mid 20th century, the building became redundant. In February 1996, most of the Rockside Hall site was sold to Rockside Matlock Ltd, a firm which later went into liquidation. Derbyshire County Council sold the remaining portion of the property to DuBarry Group in April 1999. It has since been redeveloped for housing. |
