Draft reply by William Forman to Joseph Soar's letter of 9 October 1793: wrote to him in same month to tell him of his father's death and his own (ie death of Forman's father): everything has been sold up - some property for him - believed to be about £20: troublesome times in England due to war with French, "all country keeps in England is fencibles"; only he and Henry Meakin in Chellaston horse soldiers, find their horse value £25 and they are returned £10 toward him; their business to quell the "Jackabines" (Jacobins)
