Administrative History | Schooling for Roman Catholic children began with a Sunday School started in 1825, followed by a day school established in 1846. The first purpose-built school was opened in Jaggers Lane in 1864 and extended in 1911-1912. The final school building, on the site of the former Institute Works, was converted for school use in 1954-1955, but was forced to close in 1984 due to falling numbers. |
Custodial History | The records were deposited in the Record Office in November 1993, May 1995 and September 1996. All the items apart from the log book were previously deposited under reference number D3860, the collection of the Hathersage Roman Catholic Church. |
