Administrative History
The Wesleyan Chapel in King Street, Outfield was built in 1777. A new chapel was built in 1843 and was later occupied by the Wesleyan Reformers, then becoming a Methodist Free Chapel. The Wesleyan Methodists built a new chapel which opened in 1904. Duffield was part of the Belper Wesleyan Methodist Circuit from 1803. The church closed on 30 August 2024.
Custodial History
These records were deposited in the Record Office via Belper Methodist Circuit in April 1968 and January 1992, before being re-accessioned in 1995. Further records were deposited by the church in August 2022 and by the Trustees in November 2024 after the church closed.
