Administrative History | Mount Tabor in Market Place was Wesleyan Methodist originally. Having joined the Wesleyan Methodist Reformers in 1849, the chapel became a United Methodist Free Church in 1857. In 1907 they conbined with the New Connexion and Bible Christians to become the United Methodist Church. A further amalgamation with the Wesleyan Methodist and Primitive Methodist Churches formed the Methodist Church in 1932. Mount Tabor Methodist Church closed in the 1960s. |
