| Administrative History | The Green Hill Chapel was erected in St Peter's churchyard in 1816. It was originally built as an Independent Chapel but had been acquired by the Wesleyan Methodist Connexion by 1824. In 1870 it became the lead church for the new Green Hill Wesleyan Methodist Circuit, and the baptism registers appear to include entries for the whole circuit (for other circuit records, see D2594). In 1956 it became known as the Green Hill Central Methodist Church following the closure of the Central (formerly Primitive) Methodist Chapel and the amalgamation of the two congregations. For records of the Central Methodist Church see D4129. The church closed in 1988. |
| Custodial History | These records were deposited in the Record Office by the Derby South Methodist Circuit at various times from December 1982. |
