Cromford Via Gellia Church was originally a Wesleyan Methodist Church, founded about 1803. The first building opened in 1808 and was sold in 1904 after the new church and school room opened in Water Lane in 1900. The church became the Cromford Methodist Church (see D6665) in 1958 when it united with Mount Tabor Methodist Church (see D4015).
