Archive CreatorHathersage Methodist Church, and predecessors
Administrative HistoryA Wesleyan Methodist Chapel was built on the main street in Hathersage in 1807. It was enlarged in 1871, and had a Sunday School built in 1845. A later Sunday School was built in 1907, along with other premises, known as The Institute, which was transferred to the Roman Catholic Church after the 2nd World War. It was originally in the Bradwell Wesleyan Circuit.

The Primitive Methodist Church was erected in 1895, being part of the Bradwell Circuit. In 1932, the Primitive Methodists closed their church and they seem to have been absorbed into the congregation of the old Wesleyan church. In 1939 a new Methodist Church was built.
Custodial HistoryThe records were deposited at various dates between March 1978 and September 2019.
