Administrative History
The first church at Saltergate was built in 1795 and the Wesleyan Methodist circuit based on this church formed in 1806. The present building was erected in 1870 and formed the centre of the amalgamated Chesterfield (Saltergate) Methodist circuit from 1930. It later became known as Chesterfield Central Methodist Church.
Custodial History
Records in this collection were first deposited by the church in January 1991. One item was deposited by the circuit administrator in March 2019, following a house clearance.
